Looking Forward
We all know that life is not a bed of roses. We all have our ups and downs, our good and bad moments, our happy and sad times. Life is a constant struggle and we need to juggle the different aspects of it as perfectly as we can, so sometimes there is a need to recharge ourselves, rejuvenate and find the enthusiasm and energy to continue. And when you have something to look forward to, it sure doubles your energy quotient.
I believe that every person need to have something to look forward to in life - a goal, a target, a dream to fulfil. Then it makes the ride all the more challenging, inspiring, adventurous and exciting. Having something to look forward to energises your spirit and makes your life more worthwhile. Waking up to a new morning every day with renewed spirits should be the way to go. Even the simplest things give us a reason to go through the entire day with a positive attitude.
There should always be a chore, a task to complete, a book to finish, an errand to run or even a favourite television programme to pass the evening pleasantly. Of course a good date, a great dinner and a lovely partner would definitely be the icing on the cake and the climax to a day perfectly spent. But alas, things don't always work out that way so it is up to us to make each day special and have something to look forward to.
The trick is not to be overwhelmed or take on more than you should and always make time for that little special something that gives you immense pleasure. For different people it can mean different things but it does work for everyone. It gives you a reason to spend your entire day in anticipation of that special time, a boost to your morale and a positive attitude. I firmly believe that every person in this world should have something good to look forward to in order to be happy and thus, make others happy too.
Having something to look forward to is important to all of us and not just to those who have serious problems in their lives. A fresh cup of coffee, a warm shower, a day free of stressful encounters is enough for some of us. A good grade, a compliment, or a pat on the back will do for others. Looking forward to a way to help someone else on their journey through life is something many of us cherish. No matter how our lives are fulfilled, having something to look forward to each day is important for measuring how rewarding our lives are.
Sometimes, all that we need is a change in our attitude and living with a little more gratitude. By appreciating what we have and not dwelling on the past, we become a more positive and forward-looking person.
I've lived by this rule and it had always worked for me. What are you looking forward to today?
